Overview
Logical Works is the data controller for Guali, an interactive AI language-learning application for Spanish, Japanese, French, and Portuguese. This policy applies to the Guali Android app and its supporting services.
Data we collect
- Account data: email address, Firebase user ID, first and last name, sign-in provider, and sign-in metadata. Social sign-in may provide a display name and profile image.
- Eligibility data: date of birth, age band, accepted policy version, and guardian confirmation where applicable.
- Learning data: selected languages, current level, goals, settings, practice results, corrections, and proficiency evidence.
- Conversation data: recent learner and tutor text used to continue lessons and show chat history.
- Voice data: microphone audio is handled by the device speech-recognition service. Guali does not store microphone recordings. Recognised text may become part of a tutor conversation.
- Security data: App Check attestations, limited service logs, rate-limit records, and pseudonymous identifiers used to prevent abuse.
- Device preferences: theme, avatar, tutor voice, speed, and biometric-lock preference stored locally on the device.
- Notification data: if morning phrases are enabled, a Firebase messaging token, notification time, timezone offset, and recent-delivery date.
- Advertising data: Google AdMob may process device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, consent choices, and diagnostics when advertising is enabled.
How and why we use data
We process data only for defined purposes:
- To create and secure accounts, provide lessons, remember recent context, and monitor learning progress as part of the service requested by the learner.
- To protect accounts, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and keep the service reliable.
- With permission, to enable microphone, biometric lock, and daily phrase notifications. Permission can be withdrawn through the app or Android settings.
- To support the service with a home-screen advertising banner, subject to consent and applicable advertising rules.
Teen accounts receive under-age treatment and non-personalised ad requests. Guali is not offered to children under 13.
How long we keep data
- Conversation memory expires 30 days after the latest activity and can be cleared earlier by the learner.
- Temporary ElevenLabs and Google speech audio files are deleted from the Android device immediately after playback.
- The Firebase messaging token is removed from Guali when morning phrase notifications are disabled.
- Account, profile, session, and progress records remain while the account is active unless the learner deletes the account or law requires another period.
- Security and provider logs are retained only for operational, fraud-prevention, contractual, or legal purposes.
- Advertising consent and delivery records follow Google's applicable retention settings and the choices presented through its consent platform.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and data
- Receive a portable copy
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent
- Review advertising choices
- Complain to your data-protection authority
Guali's Settings → Information → Account & Login area provides account export and deletion controls.
Request data or account deletion
You can delete Guali data without waiting for support:
- Open Guali and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Information → Account & Login.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Account deletion removes the Firebase Authentication account and associated Guali profile, conversations, language profiles, progress, session, notification, and rate-limit records. Limited security, transaction, or legal records may be retained only where required and then deleted or anonymised when that period ends.
To delete conversation history without deleting the account, open Tutor Chat and use the delete-history control. You can also export your current account data from Account & Login.
Email Logical Works from the address connected to your Guali account. Include “Guali account deletion” and the account email address in your request. We may ask for reasonable verification before deleting data to protect your account.
Children and young learners
Guali is not available to children under 13. The pilot requires guardian confirmation for learners under 18 and applies age-appropriate advertising treatment. Additional digital-consent and child-protection rules apply in markets where the app is offered.
Security, AI assessment, and changes
Guali uses authentication, App Check, private database rules, encrypted network connections, server-held secrets, rate limits, and data minimisation. No system can guarantee absolute security.
AI estimates may recommend when a learner advances to another proficiency level. This is an educational recommendation and does not produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Material policy changes will receive a new version and renewed acknowledgement where required.
